African Roots Discovered

Ethiopia – The Birthplace of Coffee, where temperature and tradition produce fine flavor and deep berry aromas. Our coffee reflects the heart and soul of the proud people of Africa who cultivate the crops and also bring their unique perspective to bringing a cup of coffee to market

In the tenth century, Ethiopian nomadic mountain people may have been the first to recognize coffee’s stimulating effect, although they ate the red cherries directly and did not drink it as a beverage.

Ethiopian coffee is one of the most popular coffee origins in the world.  Many of the finest African coffee beans in the world come from Ethiopia and Kenya in the East to Rwanda where top quality Arabica beans.  Coffee still grows wild in Ethiopia’s mountain forests.

METAD is a third-generation family owned business with a rich history that began after World War II when the Ethiopian Emperor awarded Muluemebet Emiru, the first African female pilot and family matriarch, with land in the Guji and Sidama zones that has become the Hambela Coffee Estate.

The Visionary Leader

Coffee connaisseur and entrepreneur Daniel Morgan developed a love of coffee rooted in his upbringing in New Orleans, his beloved grandmother tuned his palette early with a tradition of starting the day with a great cup of coffee.

In 2006, Mr. Morgan’s love of coffee continued to develop and he started taking classes for artistry roasting and soon developed a special interest in Ethiopian Coffee. Committing to a year to discover the true contents of this wonderful beverage product, he and a native of Ethiopia formed Morgan Bailey Premium Coffee and Tea Company.

Our People

Angela Tillis-Morgan is a savvy business woman. She is a trail-blazer for a whole generation. As CEO of a very successful business and a champion of the people on her team. Her entrepreneurial power is dedicated to making the world better.

Angela has over a decade of professional experience in the Social Work industry, specifically working directly with autistic children. Her expertise includes program development, valuable experience in office operations, developing intra-office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, office staff supervision and task delegation.

Angela is recognized for her down to earth personality and her natural ability to communicate with people.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree Field of Study Communication Sciences and Disorders, General from California State University-Fullerton.

 

Sheila Gilmore is a marketing and advertising executive with over 25 years of experience including strategic planning, brand and campaign management, creative services, direct response marketing, event planning, market research, product development, and database management.

Sheila began her cable career with Valley Cable in Los Angeles, CA and has moved onto hold positions of increasing responsibility in the marketing and sales, culminating with the launch of the Gilmore Group, a full-service marketing and advertising company specializing in integrated marketing solutions to a diverse roster of clients in the entertainment, corporate and non-profit industries.

Prior to launching her company, Sheila was the Vice President, Sales and Marketing, West Division for Charter Communications.  In this role Sheila was responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the day-to-day marketing activity for all product lines and sales channels in the West Division, serving over 1.1 million customers in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Texas.  In this role, Sheila also made all programming selection decisions for the Division.

Sheila gives generously of her time to support a variety of charitable and civic causes.  It is through her leadership in this area that she has become a preferred partner for cable programmers interested in collaborating for community and system level events.

Sheila is a native Californian, growing up in Northern California and settling in Southern California over 20 years ago.  She is a mother of three and received her post-secondary education at San Jose State University

Accomplished sales and marketing executive with proven success in exceeding multimillion dollar sales goals and performing effective territory management within diverse industries, including retail consumer package goods, real estate, automotive and telecommunications.

Specialties includes strong leadership in managing field marketing program for brands and administering promotions and excels at planning marketing strategies, building teams, and providing motivation and sales incentives to improve market penetration, expand distribution, and increase sales revenues.

Co-Founder of Navigator Sales & Marketing, one of the fastest growing food and beverage brokers in the industry, representing over 20 Brands. They are poised to address today’s savvy and health conscious consumer.

Navigator Sales and Marketing was born out of a passion help small companies realize their dreams.  Co-Managing partners, Subriana and Allen Pierce are devoted to represent companies with unique and innovative offerings.

We seek companies with unique offerings that INNOVATE.  Navigator also leverage our industry relationships and partnerships to help our clients to NAVIGATE retail and Consumer Package Goods in order to ACCELERATE their growth.
